GLOBAL CUISINES

So I've not only come to realise that obviously the foods we eat all around the world are different, the way we perceive different foods is different and many foods have immediate connotations. For example ice cream is obviously consumed for comfort, especially for women, chocolate is associated with love and intimacy. We eat all these different foods in different ways, in different set ups, the people who we eat with? where we eat? what we eat? when we eat? how we eat ? How we eat, now thats interesting. What about the first time you attempt to use chopsticks, it seems like a challenge or you are proud of yourself that you have learned something new, or the convinience of picking up a pizza or burger with your bare hands.
I want to explore into the different ways in which we eat food, and how its presented to us to do so.

As I am arabic I have always been aware of the immediate difference in cultures and the way they eat food. In middle eastern countries and in asian cultures you tend to all eat out of the same large bowl and use your hands and bread to eat the food. The bowls are usually very ornately decorated and are glass, or if they are a tagine pot it is a type of pottery. Japanese cuisine is a favourite of mine so I am aware of eating with chopsticks for the majority of dishes or large ladle like spoons to consume soups and noodles, this is in direct contract to the traditional knives and forks we are taught to use in england.
