anOther magazine

I found very contemporary and minimalistic still advertising editorials in another magazine. I found them to be very chic and modern. I loved the slicing affect it gives a very crisp finish. All of the items and accessories in the shots are shot on bold but blank backgrounds, I think this makes the items stand out more.

gq magazine

I think my images would fit into GQ more than anOther magazine. The layouts and backgrounds have more going on than in anOther magazine in which they look they are in a showroom. There is more personality to the shots, and as my images are set to tell a story I think it would be more fitting.

wonderland magazine

I didn't find a heavy amount of still life photography in wonderland magazine. However, what I did find was very minimalistic in items used per frame yet there was a big setting and story line.

laha magazine

I decided to research into a foreign magazine to see the similarities and comparisons. As my shoot was based around foreign and global foods I thought it would be fitting to do so. In the magazine I chose laha, which is an arabic magazine, I found there were not particular still life editorial spreads with a creative narrative, however they did have trend pages but they were not as creative as ones in higher end magazines such as GQ and pop magazine.

vogue - italy

I researched into vogue magazine as I still didn't feel like I had found a magazine that would be suitable for my editorial. The italian vogues I looked were very differnet to the other vogues. The size style and type of paper used was very different. It reminded me more of a womans cosmo or grazia magazine and not like the typical vogue I am use to reading.

vogue - paris 

I liked the parisian vogues I researched into they all seemed to have different 'themes' of such, as in the covers were all styled differently and used a variation of colour palettes. The trend pages were very talked over and had alot of text and writing commenting on certain aspects of the trends etc.

love magazine

I loved the layout and the styling in love magazine. I think the layouts change dependant on the theme of that particular issue of magazine. They all seem to take on a different vibe on every issue. I could imagine my editorial spread  in love magazine specifically on an issue which is surrounding global fashion, global trends etc. I think the layout and the cropping along with the text used also ties together.
