FOODIE LANDSCAPES

These series of images brings attention to unhealthy processed foods in a stunningly artistic way. Turning them into picturesque landscapes, these food items are given a more existential existence in which people are encouraged to question their purpose in real life situations.

More than that, the photography duo who shot the Processed Views photo series, Barbara Ciurej and Lindsay Lochman, write, “As we move further away from the natural sources of our food, we head into uncharted territory replete with unintended consequences for the environment and for our health.”

Like the witch from Hansel and Gretal, they made the Process Views scenes predominantly appealing, thus showing how much of a trap the foods can be. From Fruit Loop valleys to chip canyons, the dioramas are phenomenal.

I think an option for an idea and narrative would be to create different scenery/landscapes made out of food and then have the different collections/trends fitting in with this. for example for the valentino collection the landscape would be of an arabian desert or something grecian and then for something like the kenzo collection it would be water based, like the sea or lake where you would tend to go fishing because the collection has obvious connotations of fish. the accessories/details would fit into the created food visual.

I came across this amazing artist, carl warner, who creates food landscapes on such a grande scale it really put into perspective what a challenege it would be to create such an amazing landscape. I thought his work was truly amazing.
