FOOD BOOKS

Bill Granger - Feed Me Now

Having always been a big foodie I obviously owned a couple of cookbooks that had been gifted to me for birthdays etc. I decided to take a flick through them and research into how food is presented in them. Prior to reading this I had already read a book on how food is made to look extra special in food and cookbooks. It did kind of put a dampner on things in a sense that I couldn't help but think there was probably cardboard in there to somewhat bulk up a pasta dish. That aside, the food does look delicious, great care is taken in the layout of the food along with precision of each vegetable position and drop of sauce.

Jamie Oliver  - Jamie's 30 minute meals

I love Jamie Oliver, I've always been a massive fan so having his book was a must. His book is filled with food platters, lots of plates of sharing, colour and a variety of different ideas. He makes food look fun on the tv but also in his book with creative layouts. The images look very family based, or large groups of people because the table tops are always full of the hustle and bustle of a variety of dishes. Alot of the images in the book are taken from a birds eye view which I love because it really shows off whats on the table. Not only is the food important but the tabletop, and the way the space around the food looks very well thought out and important to the images and the way the food is presented as an outcome.
